Work with Kamel Ghabte

52 international participations since 2017. Bordeaux & Casablanca.

I work with cultural institutions, museums, festivals, companies, and schools that want to bring heritage, code, and artificial intelligence into their spaces — and make them live for their audiences.

Who is this for?

SME directors and innovation managers

You're integrating AI into your creative or operational processes and want the perspective of a digital artist-architect — for an internal workshop, a talk on cultural transformation, or an installation in your space.

Cultural institutions, museums, foundations

You're programming a season or building an exhibition. You're looking for an immersive digital installation, a participatory device, or an artist talk that opens a dialogue between heritage and the digital.

Festivals and curators

You're building a digital or hybrid art programme. You need a work backed by 52 festival participations, with a proven technical rider and an artist who can engage in English, French, or Arabic.

Schools, universities, training centres

You're designing a generative design programme, an introduction to creative AI, or heritage mediation through code. I offer tailor-made courses, workshops, and masterclasses.

What I bring

1. Touring installation — Digital Memories of Morocco collection

How it works

Step 1 — Discovery call (30 min, free) We define your need, your context, your constraints together. No commercial pitch: an honest conversation.

Step 2 — Scoping I send you a written proposal: format, timeline, technical requirements, indicative budget (range or bespoke quote depending on complexity). Turnaround: 5 to 7 working days.

Step 3 — Delivery Depending on the agreed format: installation delivery, training facilitation, keynote presentation, or commission development. With regular updates and adjustments along the way.

Investment

Fees vary depending on format, duration, location, and level of customisation. Some benchmarks:

I work with institutions of all sizes, in France and internationally. Public funding (DRAC, local authorities, foundations) welcome.

What partners say

"Zellige Artcade transformed our mediation: within minutes, children and adults alike enter the geometry of zellige through play, without jargon. Kamel combines rare artistic rigour with genuine pedagogical generosity." — Younes El Jaouhari, Founder, EPANWE
"In the field, Kamel's device hits the mark: it immediately creates connection with audiences and makes heritage alive, tangible, played." — Nejwa Saber, Head of Artistic and Cultural Mediation, EPANWE
"FIAV has been defending digital creation in Africa and the Arab world for thirty years. Kamel Ghabte's work fully embodies this legacy: work that connects memory, code, and audience." — Majid Sedati, Founder, FIAV Casablanca

Frequently asked questions

You're based in Bordeaux — do you work outside France? Yes. More than half my participations are outside France. I work regularly in Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Belgium, and Spain. Travel costs are included in the quote.

How much lead time is needed for an installation? For a touring installation from the existing collection: minimum 4 to 6 weeks between confirmation and installation (depending on logistics). For a specific commission: minimum 3 to 6 months depending on complexity.

Our budget is limited — can we still work together? The scoping call is always free. Some formats (artist talk, short workshop) are accessible on tighter budgets. I prefer an honest conversation about constraints over a reflexive no.

Do the works operate without an on-site technician? Yes — the installations are designed to run autonomously once installed. I provide full technical documentation and a troubleshooting guide. Presence during installation is standard.

What is the policy on rights and ownership? For collection works: rights remain with the artist; the institution receives a distribution licence for the agreed duration and venue. For commissions: to be defined in contract — partial co-ownership models are possible.

Can sessions be held remotely? Keynotes and some workshops can be conducted online. Installations are physical. The AI masterclass can be hybrid (part online, part in-person for tools).

Which works are available for programming in 2026–2027? All 9 works from the Digital Memories of Morocco collection: DATA RUG, DERB.EXE, KOUTCHI, Le Cube Augmenté, Medina CyberCity, ZELLIGE ARTCADE, Script Miner, Word Broker, Phytographie. Date-specific availability is confirmed on a scoping call.

Can you facilitate mediation or a public exchange session? Yes — and it's recommended. I offer formats adapted to context: technical guided tour, school workshop, or public artist talk, integrated into the programme or offered separately.

Do you have references from similar institutions? Yes — ADAF (9 editions), FIAV Casablanca (7 editions), Biennale Euro-Africa Fès 2026, INBA Tétouan 2026, Institut Français Casablanca, Casamémoire, EPANWE. Direct contacts can be provided on request.

Do you offer short formats (keynote, masterclass, panel) alongside a main programme? Yes — 60–90 min keynotes and 3h workshops as part of off or parallel programmes. These are priced separately from an installation.

Who handles equipment insurance and security during an event? The venue is responsible for security and supervision during the exhibition period, as with any programmed work. I insure my own equipment during transport. Per-work conditions are detailed in the technical rider and licensing agreement.

Is it possible to book at short notice, under 6 weeks out? Possibly, subject to availability. If the work is free and the rider can be met (installation time, transport), an agreement can be reached in 2 to 4 weeks. Write directly with your dates and venue — we respond quickly.
